About the Essex Lock-Hitch® Essex Auto Latch®
Essex Lock-Hitch® Auto Latch
It was important that when designing the Essex Auto Latch® that hazards to the operator on implement change over and operator requirements for change over were reduced to provide a safer environment.
The final design results are:
- The primary or main system utilizes a wedging action to engage the attachment implement pin which effectively isolates the operational loadings back to the hydraulic cylinder.
- The wedging action forces the implement pin against the hitch frame constantly compensating for wear and ensuring that the hitch and implement work together as a tight single entity.
- The safety bar automatically drops in behind the wedge on engagement to prevent the wedge inadvertently retracting.
- Should in the unlikely event that the wedge unintentionally retracted the implement will become loose on the hitch but not release indicating to the operator there is a problem.
- Two visual flags, one is to indicate engagement of the safety system from the operators’ position. The second is for a secondary person e.g. site inspector to confirm operation prior to commencement of work.
- The primary cylinder has a weld on check valve body as an integral part of the cylinder.
- The hitch operation mechanism has a guard to avoid foreign objects affecting the hitch operation.
- The main design has over 20 years of tried and tested performance and durability.
